1. Who we are

MathsHaqs (Fahim Haque, sole trader) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and service. Contact: info@mathshaqs.com.

2. What we collect

• From the paying parent/guardian: name, email address, payment details (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers ourselves)
• About the student: first name and year group/key stage
• Automatically: basic website usage data (we do not currently use any analytics or tracking tools)
• During live sessions: video/audio and chat participation is recorded

3. Why we collect it (lawful basis)

• To provide the service you've subscribed to (contract)
• To process payment (contract)
• To meet legal obligations, e.g. safeguarding or tax records (legal obligation)
• Recording of sessions: consent, given at signup

4. Children's data

Because students are minors, data about the student is provided and consented to by the parent/guardian on their behalf. We collect the minimum needed to deliver the service (name, year group) and do not use it for any purpose beyond running the sessions and safeguarding.

5. How we store and protect data

• Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI-compliant); we never see full card details
• Active subscriber records are held in a private Google Sheet, accessible only to Fahim Haque
• Session recordings are hosted as unlisted videos on YouTube (moving to Vimeo as the service grows), accessible only via a private link/password shared with active subscribers
• We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access

6. How long we keep it

• Active subscriber data: for as long as the subscription is active, plus 6 months after cancellation for record-keeping
• Session recordings: for as long as a related subscription remains active; access is revoked on cancellation
• Financial records: as required by HMRC (typically 6 years)

7. Who we share it with

• Stripe (payment processing)
• Zoom (live session delivery)
• YouTube/Vimeo (recording hosting)
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes

8. Safeguarding

The tutor delivering all sessions holds an Enhanced DBS check.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you (or the parent/guardian on the student's behalf) can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, and can object to or restrict certain processing. Contact info@mathshaqs.com to exercise these rights. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if unsatisfied with our response.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date will reflect the latest version.
